Welcome to LAKE TECH FIRE ACADEMY

The Lake Tech Fire Academy is located in Tavares, FL. We are 30 miles north-west of downtown Orlando and roughly 1 hour west of Daytona Beach.

The Academy is a division of the Lake Technical Center a charter school within the Lake County School Board system.
We are a Florida State Bureau of Fire Standards and Training certified training center and a Florida Urban Search and Rescue program training site.

The Lake Technical Center is accredited by the Commission of the Council on Occupational Education, 41 Perimeter Center East, NE, Suite 640, Atlanta, GA 30346, (800) 917-2081 .

The Academy offers Basic Firefighting, Advanced Firefighting, Company Officer Development and USAR/Technical Rescue Training programs.

The Lake Tech Fire Academy’s Urban Search and Rescue program has announced its training schedule for the winter/spring term of 2008. The following training classes are currently open for enrollment:

High Angle Rope Rescue Operations Level 1/7/08-1/11/08

High Angle Rope Rescue Technician Level 1/21/08-1/25/08

Confined Spaces Rescue Operations Level 2/4-2/6/08

Confined Spaces Rescue Technician Level 2/7-2/8/08

Trench Rescue Operations Level 2/18-2/20/08

Trench Rescue Technician Level 2/21-2/22/08

Vehicle & Machinery Rescue Operations Level 3/3-3/7/08

Vehicle & Machinery Rescue Technician Level 3/17-3/21/08

Structural Collapse Rescue Operations Level 3/31-4/2/08

Structural Collapse Rescue Technician Level 4/14-18,4/21-2/25/08
